Oral Fix recently participated in the annual summer NASFT Fancy Food Show. The National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) is a preeminent trade association providing growth for businesses in the vibrant specialty food industry. There are three shows held a year. The spring, summer and winter NASFT Fancy Food Shows bring together over 180,000 specialty food products a year. Oral Fix was in the mix at the show, showing off our mints like proud parents and rubbing elbows with some of the industries biggest, brightest and most innovative companies. Are y’all ready for some exciting news? For those of you that did not have the distinct pleasure of joining us on Saturday May 3rd, Oral Fixation celebrated the launch of NEW flavor Peppermint Mocha! Yes, a new flavor plus a smashing party to boot! We decided to launch Peppermint Mocha our delicious chocolate espresso mint at the annual SCAA this year in Minneapolis, MN to give all of our coffee shop fans an exclusive first taste and throw an unforgettable party.

We chose to stay at the uber cool Chambers Hotel (we highly recommend) and Saturday night invited all of our dearest friends, hipster baristas, and coffee industry big wigs to the luxe Rock Star Suite for lots of mingling and mints. Complete with an enormous wrap around balcony, the Rock Star Suite was pretty much the coolest hotel room we’d ever been in and easily lent itself to be made over Oral Fixation style. As our guests arrived they sipped on Rhum Clement Mojitos, Svedka Vodka Cranberries, and our pod tub full of Summit Brewery IPA’s was such a hit it made the Top Ten countdown of things not to miss at the SCAA 2008.

The drinks flowed all evening and our kick ass server Mark passed around the yummiest hors d’oeuvres catered by the renowned Jean Georges. Henry talked up the guests, Eric served the drinks, and I worked the door as the menacing bouncer. Just kidding. It was truly an Oral Fixation love fest and everyone had such a fabulous time! He did it. He really did it. Our founder Henry Rich called out Bill Wrigley in his home town newspaper the Chicago Tribune! Reporter Greg Burns sums up the state of the industry pretty well after the announcement on Monday that candy super power Mars is set to buy out Wrigley in the next year. What’s surprising though is the attention the article gives to the little guys, companies like Oral Fixation who use creativity and perseverance to carve out new niches in a seemingly saturated market. I won’t spoil all the drama but I’ve got money on a mint showdown in Chicago come May (All Candy Expo May 19th – Mass Confectionery Trade Show)!

Hello again from the City of Angels!

Last Tuesday, Los Angeles Magazine and Oral Fix celebrated the top L.A. Tastemakers featured in the 2008 issues of Los Angeles magazine. Guests included Los Angeles magazine VIPs and influencers – the people who determine the next hot trends in dining, entertaining, fashion, art – in other words, the really cool people in L.A.

We were thrilled to be chosen to be a part of the VIP gift bags – we were definitely the talk of the night. It only seemed fitting that on a night honoring Tastemakers, we were there to make their night taste that much sweeter.

After a night of rubbing elbows with L.A.’s finest, we even managed to drop our Valley Girl accent (okay, like almost…) XO

Every New Year resolutions come and go, but our fixations stay the same. Mine? Indulging in luxurious spa treatments (like many lovely ladies out there) and to round out the meditative experience I always carry with me my Antioximints. Putting these two ideas together Oral Fixation has teamed up with the Betty Network to participate in its monthly spa parties. Last month at the GemVie MediSpa guests enjoyed their treatments with samples of Mojito Mint and Mimosa Mint. This month why not join in and pamper yourself at Spa Chinois on January 30th? The focus of the day is Green Tea and the goodie bags will include samples of our Antioximints and Classical Peppermint to make you feel great inside and out. What better resolution is there than that?

Happy New Year everyone!

This morning I thought I’d share with our blog readers some exciting last minute ‘07 news to wrap up the amazing year we had. For all of those super last minute shoppers (you know who you are!) Good Morning America NOW invited on the show Cheryl Kramer Kaye, the Beauty Director at Redbook, to share her top inexpensive yet luxurious gift ideas. Check out the video of the segment and a recap here. Being featured on Good Morning America was the icing on the cake for us in 2007. As for 2008 we have some even bigger and better projects on the horizon so stay tuned to the Daily Fix!

That’s right Oral Fix fans, if you are ever out and about traveling the world and find yourself lost in Southeast Asia without your mint fix, fret no further. Oral Fixation Mints have debuted in India, Laos, and Cambodia to an explosive response and we are ecstatic. One of our new accounts in Cambodia has shared a few pictures of their proudly displayed Oral Fixation Mints and we are blown away. How cool is that coffee shop with the giant coffee bag out front?

Hello Daily Fixers!
Okay, I know, it has been forever since we have written, but we have a good excuse-we have been spreading fresh minty cheer all over the country!
First Oral Fix strutted down the red carpet at the Emmy Awards. As preparation before the show, Entertainment Weekly offered gift baskets, including our tins as a Hollywood favorite. Our mints were the perfect preparation for nominees before meeting and greeting their fellow celebrities and fans. Then stars got their fix all night long from our table at the HBO after party. The cast of the Sopranos, Entourage, and Rome couldn’t get enough of our Jasmints and Fabulous Fruit mints.
That was last month…This month we focused on giving back for Breast Cancer Awareness month. By donating 5% of our proceeds from the sale of Fabulous Fruit mints to the American Cancer Society, we worked hard to be a part of the growing fight to find a cure. The response to our efforts was overwhelming, literally our mints were flying off the shelves!
Brides Magazine did their part with their Brides Against Breast Cancer, where Fabulous Fruit mints made it into their lovely pink gift bags. Old City Life Magazine also made a difference with their Keep-a-Breast event in Florida complete with fashion show, art walk, and pink martinis handed all around. Cheers!
Finally, we took part in honoring New York’s most influential and powerful by teaming up with New York Moves magazine for a night to remember at Guastavino’s. Mira Sorvino, Ivanka Trump, Candace Bushnell, Laura Bush, and Alison Silverman are just some of the women that were honored, and Oral Fixation mints were of course the sweet treat choice of the night.
