Oral Fix Sponsors Celebrity Auction for Tibet

Monday, December 15th, 2008

Last week Oral Fixation sponsored a celebrity-studded auction at TibetHouse, an organization dedicated to preserving Tibetan culture, and one of our favorite charities. In the crowd were Uma Thurman (a regular at TibetHouse fundraisers), Donna Karan, and supermodel Petra Nemcova. One item up for auction – a very generous shopping spree donated by Ms. Karan, who chatted with Henry about her love of Tibetan culture.

Tibet House was founded at the request of the Dalai Lama, in order to preserve Tibetan culture and civilization, even while the country’s political future remains uncertain. In 1991, Tibet House declared “The International Year of Tibet,” conceived as a worldwide celebration of all things Tibetan. In the last 17 years, the movement has grown to include 7,000 in 36 countries.

Oral Fixation is proud to have joined Tibet House in making this year’s auction a great success, and to continuing our support of this important cause.

UPDATE !!! Star! Magazine latest issue features a sighting of Uma Thurman enjoying Oral Fixation at the Tibet House event!

Oral Fix supports the OUT100 awards

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

Hello Hello again!

Very exciting news over here at the Chocolate Factory.

Every year, OUT Magazine does an annual OUT100 Awards show to celebrate the achievements of all the people who helped pave the way for the gay community. This year, Tori Spelling and Tim Gunn (make it work people!) were the honored hosts. Among those honored were Jennifer Hudson, Marc Jacobs, Mary-Louise Parker, and there was an incredible performance by Miss Chaka Khan herself!

Oral Fixation mints were the sweet hit of the night. We were included in the gift bags alongside other notable items like Calvin Klein underware, Trojans, and Absolut 100 vodka (I think I am seeing the pattern here, lol!) The event was sponserd by Target, everywhere you looked were glittering red Target symbols and of course an audience full of gorgeous celebs, socialites, and us common folk alike.

We were thrilled to be included in such a fun and important event. Can’t wait until next year!!

Until next time…
xo

Love is Real.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and Oral Fix aficionados in the New York metro area better watch out for cupid’s arrow at the Human Rights Gala on February 10th! Why? Well, Oral Fixation’s Fabulous Fruit will be making a dazzling appearance at the event for starters, and what better way to celebrate the love-ly holiday than supporting everyone’s right to love and be loved? Among the speakers for the evening are: New York senator Hilary Clinton, director Ang Lee, actresses Rosie O’Donnell and Anne Hathaway, actors Alan Cummings and Nathan Lane, and designer Kenneth Cole just to name a few. We are proud to support such a noteworthy cause and the nation’s largest civil rights organization. Our delicious Fabulous Fruit mints (engraved with a heart) will be featured in the gift bags for the event. Plus, photos of the black tie gala which is being held at the über posh Waldorf-Astoria, will be posted on Daily Fix after the event so be sure to check back! What are we loving? The Heatherette tees designed exclusively for the Human Rights Campaign with the words ‘Love is Real’, shop here.

But don’t worry if you can’t make it to the event, or even get a cool new tee, there’s always Oral Fixation Mints to show you care! Try our Fabulous Fruit for your sweetheart, or even 7 deadly cinnamon for a spicy secret admirer…its all up to you! XOXO peace and love from the Chocolate Factory.

Oralfix at the Webbys

Thursday, June 9th, 2005

On Monday night Oral Fixation Mints made a special appearance at the very swanky 2005 Webby Awards at NYC’s Gotham Hall. Our mints made it into the hands of all 700 guests, including former vice-President Al Gore and Craig from Craigslist. The evening’s decor was positively crimson, so 7 Deadly Cinnamon was the flavor of choice, in its tell-tale red tin, placed on every table.

I was honored to receive a couple of awards, for 10×10 and WordCount, which was, to my surprise, the very first award of the evening. Webby acceptance speeches are strictly limited to 5 words, so mine were “I’d just like to say” (WordCount), and “A picture’s worth 100 words” (10×10). Other speech highlights were Al Gore’s “Please don’t recount this vote”, Lonely Planet’s “Love your country. Leave it.”, and British Vogue’s “Do you like my dress?”. For a good piece on the Webbys, here’s a New York Times article on the event. And now, some photos!
