Last week Oral Fixation sponsored a celebrity-studded auction at TibetHouse, an organization dedicated to preserving Tibetan culture, and one of our favorite charities. In the crowd were Uma Thurman (a regular at TibetHouse fundraisers), Donna Karan, and supermodel Petra Nemcova. One item up for auction – a very generous shopping spree donated by Ms. Karan, who chatted with Henry about her love of Tibetan culture.

Tibet House was founded at the request of the Dalai Lama, in order to preserve Tibetan culture and civilization, even while the country’s political future remains uncertain. In 1991, Tibet House declared “The International Year of Tibet,” conceived as a worldwide celebration of all things Tibetan. In the last 17 years, the movement has grown to include 7,000 in 36 countries.

Oral Fixation is proud to have joined Tibet House in making this year’s auction a great success, and to continuing our support of this important cause.

Oral Fix mints are sold all over the world, from Japan, to Poland, to Brazil. But our partners in Saudi Arabia have been fans of the product a long time and continue to be some of our most enthusiastic supporters. Our buddy Abdul Abdallah is always coming up with innovative ways to present Oral Fixation to his clientelle. Recently, he shared with us a new giftbox he created to hold an assortment of tins, filled with delicious little mints in up to six different flavors. We totally loved how the deluxe suede box was embossed with our logo and came in almost as many colors as there are Oral Fix flavors! The final touch? A voluminous chiffon bow, color coordinated of course. Thanks to Abdul and his team for creating such a beautiful product on behalf of Oral Fixation!

The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) annual art fair kicked off this week with a preview hosted at Miami’s Ice Palace film studio.

Guests were treated to gift bags featuring an array of Oral Fixation mints and live music from Casiotones for the Painfully Alone. The soiree is chance for potential buyers to get a early look at the artwork on offer at the fair itself, which opens this weekend. The week-long NADA event features new works from up-and-coming artists, represented by 88 galleries from all over the world. Oral Fix CEO Henry Rich plans to make a stop in Miami this weekend – with any luck, HQ could become home to a tableau by the next Pollock or Warhol.

On November 20th, we invited a few hundred of our closest friends to Citrine,

a new club on the border of Chelsea and Flatiron. The packed soiree celebrated

the launch of Oral Fixation’s newest flavor, Peppermint Mocha. Libations were

inspired by P. Mocha (complete with candy cane garnish!), and OF flavors Mojito

and Mimosa mint. The crowed rocked out the the musical stylings of DJ Jesse Marco,

who dropped a heavy dose of old-school favorites like Journey and Queen. A big

“thank you” to all our guests who made the event a huge success, but also insanely fun.

Cell phones, keys and cash claim their share of pocket/purse real estate, always at a premium when heading out for the night. The latest issue feature’s a spread dedicated to Oral Fixation’s extensive array of sleek, colorful tins. To all hipsters-from-another-hemisphere we say, “you’re welcome.”

Labor Day. Summer’s last hurrah. As we all enjoy the last moments of an epic summer we must also say goodbye. This summer, Oral Fixation was lucky to host not one but two incredible French young ladies as interns. Anne-Gael and Marie spent 8 weeks with us in Hopewell learning about the mint business and the American way of life. We in turn got the chance to brush up on our French and experience a little of that European “joie de vivre” during our workday. It was a blast really. Too much fun and a unique cultural experience. Seen above with Henry at their going away party Anne-Gael and Marie are two Frenchies our company will never forget. Merci beaucoup ladies! We miss you already…

Oral Fix recently participated in the annual summer NASFT Fancy Food Show. The National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) is a preeminent trade association providing growth for businesses in the vibrant specialty food industry. There are three shows held a year. The spring, summer and winter NASFT Fancy Food Shows bring together over 180,000 specialty food products a year. Oral Fix was in the mix at the show, showing off our mints like proud parents and rubbing elbows with some of the industries biggest, brightest and most innovative companies.
